Once you arrive in Madrid, there is an Exprés Aeropuerto (Airport Express shuttle) which runs almost continuously during the day and night for only 5 Euro. You can also use the express to return to the airport from pick up spots in the city.
Madrid has wonderful public transportation. You can get around using the Metro, bus, bike or taxi. See more information here.
Madrid will surprise you with its intense blue sky. Autumn in Madrid is pleasant and very mild. September days can still get some summer heat, especially early in the month, but night-time temperatures drop quite rapidly as soon as August is over. Whilst many countries consider September to be approaching autumn, Madrid is still in the grips of summer, experiencing an average of 22°C per day, with a high of 29°C, and a low of only 14°C during the evening.
